In June 2008 GTAH partnered with fellow NGOs, World Care and HOPEH to hold a fundraiser in Manhattan to raise funds to purchase and install personal water purification equipment for 2000 households in Juampas and other homes in the Central Plateau. With the support of the Consul General of Haiti in New York , the event attracted the support of a number of Haitian artists, recording artists, United Nations staff and members of the Haitian community in New York . At the end of the event a sum of $9,000 was presented to World Care as GTAH’s first contribution towards the clean water project.
